The youth bike skills course teaches traffic safety, cyclist responsibilities, and bike handling skills to develop safe cycling behaviours that make biking fun and safe. Participants will leave the course with the skills to ride to school or around their neighbourhood. The course is delivered in alternating 45-minute segments in-class and on-bike, followed by a guided road ride on quiet roads and pathways where they will practice the learned skills. Please note that participants should already be able to ride independently and continuously on their cycles before the course begins. The October course will include a segment on riding safely in changing seasons, riding in rain, and riding during the winter.
